Multiple Applications
WiFi tags primarily provide the ability to locate tagged assets to a high degree of accuracy. In addition, the tags contain a host of other functionality which can facilitate a number of valuable features within Airetrak’s ResourceView solution:
- Motion Sensors
Built-in motion sensor enable the tags to send motion status to users of the tracking system. This can be used to indicate to ResourceView when an asset is in use or alarm when an asset is potentially being stolen.
- Choke Point Detection
The WiFi tags contain a small magnetic sensor which can be ‘excited’ using a fixed position ‘exciter’. This enables the tag position to be determined to a high accuracy (such as a shelf or small room) and to trigger immediate alerts as it passes through a choke point (such as a doorway)
- Call Button
The WiFi tags can contain a call button which sends configurable alerts to ResourceView. This can be used to indicate an emergency situation (such as a panic attack) or to indicate a maintenance or cleaning requirement (such as a hospital bed has been cleaned and is ready for use)
- Anti-Tamper
The tag detachment detection feature alerts ResourceView when the tag has been removed from the asset it has been attached to. This can be used in anti-theft situations
- Telemetry functions
The WiFi tags can monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, pressure and gas and can deliver the measurements and can trigger alerts based on reaching a configurable threshold.
