The Airetrak Real Time Location System (RTLS) combines leading wireless LAN and Wi-Fi tag products with Airetrak’s world class software application, ResourceView, to provide a comprehensive solution for locating assets across organisations.

The Airetrak location solution is fully standards based, and makes use of the existing 802.11 Wi-Fi Network to determine location information. This avoids the need for expensive proprietary reader infrastructure. This helps keep down the costs and provides a standards based platform positioned for the future.

The Airetrak solution allows you to locate the key assets and resources by attaching 802.11 Wi-Fi Tags which can be tracked. Additionally, any wireless device transmitting on the wireless LAN, such as PDAs, laptops and Wi-Fi phones can be tracked without the need for a Wi-Fi tag.

The Airetrak ResourceView software application then provides unparalleled functionality to the end user allowing visibility of key resources through an easy-to-use Web-based electronic map of the organisation. ResourceView provides comprehensive reporting capability through an industry standard reporting package, and extensive alerting capability linked to email, SMS and 3rd part applications.

Airetrak also incorporates Wi-Fi Exciter technology for situations where exact position accuracy is required, or where accurate entry/exit information is required. When a Wi-Fi tag moves into range of an Exciter, it causes the tag to initiate a signal over the wireless LAN.

With communication of information between other systems critical to providing valuable information to the end user, the Airetrak solution has been designed with an extensive range of Integration Services. The integration services allow integration with enterprise-class infrastructure and applications using industry standard protocols and messaging.
