Airetrak exhibited at the AIM Conference “Getting to the heart of the NHS” The conference hosted by AIM UK, provided a clear view of the strategic and practical benefits that accrue from exploiting the identification of people and items within the Healthcare sector.
The conference also saw the launch of the first comprehensive report into the use of Auto Identification systems in healthcare, authored by Professor Tony Furness. Furness, AIM UK´s Technical Director, said: “.There is a need to think `outside the box´ because used correctly for healthcare support in ICT, these tracking solutions can yield savings of £billions a year. And in healthcare we are talking about the quick and accurate identification of patients and staff, together with a whole range of process-defined items such as specimens, surgical instruments, large pieces of capital equipment and much more,”
This was a great opportunity for Airetrak to highlight how tracking medical equipment within the hospital can help make large savings against budget whilst improving the quality of patient care and safety. Roger Willmott, Airetrak’s CEO added, “the conference provided some real life examples from UK hospitals of how technology can play a key role in creating the hospital of the future.”
Participants at the conference included clinicians, ICT specialists and Trust management. The conference was chaired by Claire Rayner, President of The Patients Association.
